Azula Spells! by ridman

Format: Commander

Commander: Fire Lord Azula

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This deck is a high-tempo Grixis spellslinger strategy helmed by Fire Lord Azula. The primary plan is to cast Azula, give her haste via Lightning Greaves or Swiftfoot Boots, attack to trigger firebending (adding {R}{R}) and her copy ability, then dump that mana into massive copy-stacked X spells like Torment of Hailfire, Crackle with Power, or Exsanguinate to eliminate the table in a single turn. Redundant copy effects (Reverberate, Repeated Reverberation, Dualcaster Mage, Thousand-Year Storm, Veyran, Voice of Duality) amplify the burst, while rituals (Seething Song, Dark Ritual) and treasure generators (Storm-Kiln Artist) accelerate the mana. Combat support from Etali, Primal Storm and Ozai, the Phoenix King provides alternate angles, and a dense suite of counterspells and instant-speed interaction protects the combo turn. The deck aims to win through massive spell duplication, leveraging Azula's attack trigger as both a mana engine and a force multiplier.
