Deck overview

This Mardu deck is helmed by Kelsien, the Plague, a haste-fueled pinger that grows with experience counters. The primary game plan revolves around using deathtouch pings to controll the board while stockpiling experience counters, then finishing with a giant Kelsien via combat (boosted by Twinflame Tyrant or Sword of Truth and Justice) or a one-shot Chandra's Ignition. Secondary themes include crime payoffs (Magda, the Hoardmaster, At Knifepoint) and a small experience subtheme (Otharri, Suns' Glory, Minthara, Merciless Soul). The deck forgoes fast combos in favor of incremental advantage and a pinging board controll, but lacks the speed and stack interaction to keep up with higher-powere pods.
