Deck overview

This deck is a classic Mardu aggro-cheat strategy built around Kaalia of the Vast. The core game plan focuses on casting Kaalia on curve and attacking to cheat devastating high-CMC Angels, Demons, and Dragons directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. Payoffs like Master of Cruelties, Archfiend of Despair, Bloodthirster, and Aurelia, the Warleader deliver explosive lethal damage capable of eliminating players one by one. The list features premium Mardu spot removal and sweepers (Swords to Plowshares, Deadly Rollick, Farewell, Ruinous Ultimatum) alongside exceptional defensive protection spells (Deflecting Swat, Teferi's Protection, Flawless Maneuver). While the deck's low count of early ramp artifacts creates a bottleneck when hard-casting high-CMC creatures without Kaalia, its explosive attack triggers and robust tutor package make it a persistent, lethal combat threat.
