Deck overview

This Rakdos deck centers on Smaug the Impenetrable, leveraging the commander's indestructible body and noncombat damage trigger to generate overwhelming bursts of Treasure tokens. By targeting Smaug with damage-based sweepers and burn spells like Blasphemous Act, Cut Propulsion, and Star of Extinction, the deck creates 8 to 20+ Treasures in a single action while keeping its own commander intact. These resources immediately translate into game-ending pressure through artifact-drain payoffs such as Mirkwood Bats, Reckless Fireweaver, and Marionette Master, or large mana sinks like Exsanguinate. The deck also features a compact infinite-mana combo with Chain Lightning and Smaug. Supported by robust free redirection protection (Deflecting Swat, Bolt Bend), split-second casting with Shadow the Hedgehog, and uncounterable spells via Spider-Punk, the strategy reliably assembles its engine on Turn 5 and eliminates the table by Turn 6.
