Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Esper reanimator and control strategy commanded by Hashaton, Scarab's Fist. The primary game plan focuses on discarding massive, format-warping creature threats into the graveyard and cheating them onto the battlefield on Turn 4, either through Hashaton's ability to create 4/4 token copies for {2}{U} or via efficient reanimation spells such as Reanimate, Animate Dead, and Necromancy. Once colossal threats like Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur, Void Winnower, or Razaketh, the Foulblooded enter the battlefield, they establish crushing asymmetric locks by stripping opposing hands or restricting spell casts. The deck rapidly transitions to a game-ending state on Turn 5 by looping mana-positive rocks with Hullbreaker Horror to bounce all opposing nonland permanents and repeatedly cast Gray Merchant of Asphodel for lethal drain. Supported by dense tutoring, cheap interaction, and redundant graveyard recursion, the deck maintains high resilience and operational velocity.
