Deck overview

This deck is an Esper lifegain control strategy helmed by Oloro, Ageless Ascetic. It leverages Oloro's eminence ability to gain 2 life each upkeep without ever needing to leave the command zone. The early game focuses on deploying mana rocks and establishing pillowfort defenses such as Ghostly Prison, Propaganda, and Authority of the Consuls to dissuade aggressive attacks. As life totals climb well above starting levels, the deck transitions into converting life into tangible advantages through cards like Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, Rhox Faithmender, and Rhystic Study. It achieves victory through multiple overlapping avenues: alternate win triggers like Felidar Sovereign, the infinite drain loop of Exquisite Blood with Sanguine Bond or Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, or wide combat damage fueled by Crested Sunmare and Archangel of Thune. A robust interaction suite of countermagic and modular board wipes ensures the deck can control the tempo of the table.
