Format: Commander

Commander: Sauron, the Dark Lord

Bracket: 5

Deck overview

This deck leverages Sauron, the Dark Lord as a resilient card draw engine and token generator while pursuing a compact combo finish. Sauron punishes opponents whenever they cast spells by amassing Orc Army tokens, and it wheels your hand into fresh resources whenever the Ring tempts you. The primary win condition is the lethal pairing of Thassa's Oracle and Demonic Consultation, which quickly empties your library to secure an instant victory. If the combo is delayed, the deck transitions into a potent mid-range beatdown plan utilizing nine copies of Nazgul, Orcish Bowmasters, and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, all protected by a deep suite of free counterspells and targeted removal.
