Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul Voltron and power-matters strategy helmed by the commander pairing of Livaan, Cultist of Tiamat and Raised by Giants. By utilizing cheap mana ramp on the first two turns, the deck casts Livaan on Turn 3 and resolves Raised by Giants on Turn 4, transforming Livaan into a massive 10/10 Giant Dragon. On Turn 5, the deck pivots into an aggressive must-answer clock by leveraging cheap cantrips, double strike enablers like Temur Battle Rage, and damage doublers like Calamity Bearer or Thrakkus the Butcher to eliminate opponents in single hits. High-synergy power payoffs like Rishkar's Expertise, Return of the Wildspeaker, and Selvala, Heart of the Wilds turn Livaan's high stats into massive bursts of mana and cards. While vulnerable to prolonged exposure and sweepers, the deck leverages efficient 1-mana protection spells to safeguard its primary threat.
