Deck overview

This Simic deck, helmed by Xolatoyac, the Smiling Flood, fuses flood-counter synergies with +1/+1 counter growth and a deep suite of combat-damage draw engines. By turning lands into Islands via the commander's ETB/attack trigger, the deck enables islandwalk creatures to become nearly unblockable, while the commander's end-step untap ability re-activates every permanent with a counter - from mana sources to creatures with inspired triggers. The primary win path is overwhelming combat damage, accelerated by cards like Old Gnawbone (Treasure-fueled swings) and Sakiko, Mother of Summer (massive green mana), backed by extra turns from Walk the Aeons once a critical mass of Islands is established. The deck also runs a handful of protection spells and a symmetrical stax piece in Choke, which the commander's untap effect neatly dodges.
