Deck overview

This Grixis deck is commanded by Sauron, the Dark Lord, focusing on an Amass Orcs midrange strategy combined with combat-driven card velocity. In the early turns, the deck develops mana through a basic-heavy land base and key artifacts like Sol Ring and Arcane Signet. Once Sauron enters the battlefield on Turn 5, he acts as an oppressive value engine by amassing an Orc Army whenever opponents cast spells and shielding himself with a punishing Ward cost. On Turn 6, combat connections with the Ring-bearer trigger the Ring's temptation, allowing the pilot to discard their hand and draw four fresh cards. This card flow fuels continuous token growth, symmetric drain via Mirkwood Bats, and one-sided creature suppression through Archfiend of Ifnir. The deck converts this advantage into victory by delivering lethal combat strikes with Assault on Osgiliath and Orcish Siegemaster, eliminating the table by Turn 9.
