Deck overview

This Simic tempo deck is commanded by Edric, Spymaster of Trest, executing a classic Flying Men extra-turns strategy. The game plan opens with a dense swarm of evasive one-mana creatures, followed by casting Edric on Turn 3 to immediately draw cards upon dealing combat damage. This rapid card draw fuels an overwhelming resource advantage, enabling the deck to dig into its suite of extra-turn spells like Notorious Throng, Walk the Aeons, and Part the Waterveil. Once an extra turn resolves, the deck multiplies its board presence and draws even more cards, chaining further turns or casting decisive overrun finishers such as Scale Up and Biomass Mutation. The deck backs up its proactive game plan with a robust suite of cheap countermagic and bounce spells, maintaining control while keeping opponents from establishing their own game plans. Its high redundancy and low mana curve ensure exceptional consistency across games.
