Deck overview

This Boros deck is an aggressive Equipment Voltron strategy helmed by Bruenor Battlehammer. The game plan revolves around deploying low-cost Equipment, casting Bruenor on curve, and exploiting his static abilities to bypass expensive equip costs while granting substantial power buffs to equipped attackers. By cheating equip costs onto high-stat armaments like Colossus Hammer and granting combat keywords such as double strike, trample, and flying, the deck creates lethal commander-damage threats starting around Turn 5. Secondary carriers such as Wyleth, Soul of Steel, Champion of the Flame, and Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh, combined with alternate equip enablers like Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist and Puresteel Paladin, ensure consistent combat pressure even if Bruenor is answered. The deck protects its central threats using Boros Charm, Swiftfoot Boots, and Robe of Stars, and disrupts opposing boards with efficient spot removal and asymmetrical sweepers like Slash the Ranks, systematically eliminating opponents across consecutive combat phases.
