Commander: Lightning, Army of One

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a focused Boros equipment/combat deck built around Lightning, Army of One and his Stagger trigger: every time ''Lightning'' connects, all subsequent damage to that player until your next turn is doubled. The plan is to land that trigger early, then stack extra combat steps and damage doublers so each swing multiplies the last. The 99 is dense with Equipment tutors (Cloud, Midgar Mercenary, Steelshaper's Gift, Open the Armory), draw engines (Sram, Senior Edificer, Puresteel Paladin), and four extra-combat effects. The primary kill is an infinite-combat loop via Aggravated Assault fed by Sword of Feast and Famine or The Reaver Cleaver; the fallback is escalating commander damage through Genji Glove, Reyav, Master Smith, Mjolnir, Hammer of Thor, and Twinflame Tyrant. Backup pilots - Cloud, Planet's Champion, Aurelia, the Warleader, Gilgamesh, Master-at-Arms - can carry the equipment if Lightning is answered. Fast, linear, and explosive, but vulnerable to permanent-based sweepers and a thin stack.
