Arthreos - Death Tax by TotallynotaWizard

Format: Commander

Commander: Athreos, Shroud-Veiled

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Athreos, Shroud-Veiled commands an Orzhov attrition and reanimator deck built to grind down opponents through targeted removal, sweeper effects, and life drain. The deck controls the board during the early and midgame with efficient interaction and passive deterrents like No Mercy and Authority of the Consuls. Athreos uses coin counters to protect key creatures and steal opposing threats as they die. The primary path to victory relies on incremental aristocrat drain from Cruel Celebrant and Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim, explosive devotion bursts from Gray Merchant of Asphodel, or overwhelming the table by casting Rise of the Dark Realms to mass reanimate all graveyards.
