Deck overview

This deck is a mono-white lifegain and pillowfort strategy commanded by Rune-Tail, Kitsune Ascendant. Starting at 40 life in Commander allows Rune-Tail to flip immediately upon entering the battlefield into Rune-Tail's Essence, granting complete damage prevention to all creatures you control. This static immunity turns low-cost defenders like Wall of Glare and multi-blockers like Palace Guard into impenetrable combat walls. With damage negated, the deck steadily accumulates life using triggers from Soul Warden, Daxos, Blessed by the Sun, and Linden, the Steadfast Queen. Mid-game draw engines like Tocasia's Welcome, Enduring Innocence, and Court of Grace maintain steady card flow. The primary route to victory bypasses combat by deploying Felidar Sovereign or Test of Endurance once life thresholds are met, closing the game on the subsequent upkeep. Backup plans utilize scaling threats like Voice of the Blessed, Nykthos Paragon, and Storm Herd to overwhelm opponents with an army of indestructible flyers and buffed creatures.
