Deck overview

This Grixis spellslinger deck is commanded by Fire Lord Azula, turning combat into an explosive spell-copying phase. Azula generates two red mana on every attack through firebending and automatically duplicates any spell cast while she is attacking. The deck capitalizes on this timing window by casting instant-speed rituals, card-draw spells, and burn effects during combat. Static damage amplifiers such as Coruscation Mage, Longshot, Rebel Bowman, Tomik, Izzet Sparkmage, and Twinflame Tyrant weaponize every duplicated cast. Meanwhile, engines like Archmage Emeritus and Ashling, Flame Dancer convert spell triggers into massive card advantage and excess mana. The deck protects its commander using efficient equipment, hexproof tricks, and redirection spells. While vulnerable to well-timed removal on attack declaration, the list possesses remarkable burst potential, frequently chunking the entire table for lethal damage across one or two decisive combat turns.
