Lathril, Bane of my Students by user1139024

Format: Commander

Commander: Lathril, Blade of the Elves

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a Golgari Elf-tribal deck built around Lathril, Blade of the Elves's one-two punch: her combat damage floods the board with 1/1 Elf Warrior tokens, and her activated ability turns ten untapped Elves into a 10-life drain against every opponent. The plan is to curve cheap Elf mana dorks into Lathril, compound her tokens with lords and token producers like Elvish Warmaster, Imperious Perfect, and Lys Alana Huntmaster, then finish through a combination of Shaman of the Pack life-loss, Skemfar Shadowsage table drains, and an End-Raze Forerunners overrun. Secondary drains on creature death-Bastion of Remembrance, Poison-Tip Archer, and Elderfang Venom-let incidental deaths double as reach. The deck is an aggressive midrange swarm that wins through combat, drain triggers, and the commander's repeatable finisher rather than through infinite combos.
