Deck overview

This deck is an explosive Izzet spellslinger storm deck commanded by Niv-Mizzet, Visionary. The strategy centers on deploying low-cost creature pingers like Firebrand Archer and Coruscation Mage before casting the commander. Because Niv-Mizzet, Visionary draws cards whenever a source deals noncombat damage to an opponent, every noncreature spell damages all three opponents and draws three cards. This immediately initiates a storm loop fueled by rituals like Rite of Flame, Jeska's Will, and Treasonous Ogre. The deck protects its combo turn using zero-mana counterspells such as Fierce Guardianship, Force of Will, and Pact of Negation. Opponents are burned down in a single turn via compounding pings, damage amplifiers like Solphim, Mayhem Dominus and Twinflame Tyrant, or an alternate win with Laboratory Maniac. Even when the commander is removed, redundant threats like Niv-Mizzet, Parun provide rapid recovery and high resilience.
