Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov lifegain group slug strategy piloted by Liesa, Shroud of Dusk. It aims to control the pace of the game by taxing every spell cast at the table while using lifegain engines to break parity on life totals. Rather than paying additional mana for commander tax, Liesa pays 2 life per cast, allowing the deck to maintain tempo even when she is repeatedly removed. Passive punishers like Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, Kambal, Consul of Allocation, and Painful Quandary accelerate opposing life loss while enchantments like Blind Obedience and Authority of the Consuls slow opposing combat. The deck closes games through accumulated drain, aerial combat, high-impact spells like Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Exsanguinate, or by assembling the infinite drain loop between Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond or Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose.
