Deck overview

This Orzhov deck blends classic Aristocrats sacrifice loops with Angel-focused lifegain synergies, commanded by Liesa, Forgotten Archangel. The strategy centers on generating recurring value through death triggers while using Liesa's asymmetric replacement effect to permanently exile opposing creatures. In the early game, cheap utility creatures like Soul Warden, Viscera Seer, and Accursed Marauder establish board presence and mana velocity. By the mid-game, pieces like Grave Pact, Bastion of Remembrance, and Liesa, Forgotten Archangel create an oppressive attrition engine that strips opposing boards while recycling your own creatures each end step. A secondary aerial lifegain axis led by Righteous Valkyrie, Resplendent Angel, and Archangel of Thune provides substantial combat pressure. The deck closes games reliably around Turn 8 through accumulated drain triggers, aerial combat damage, or a decisive Gray Merchant of Asphodel burst. Strong targeted removal, repeatable protection like Selfless Spirit, and resilient graveyard recursion give the deck exceptional longevity across multi-turn pod games.
