Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Rakdos combo-attrition deck built around Smaug the Impenetrable. Because Smaug possesses indestructible, flying, and haste alongside a triggered ability that creates Treasure tokens equal to any noncombat damage dealt to him, the deck transforms symmetric and self-inflicted damage spells into massive mana bursts. Accelerating into Smaug on Turns 4–5 through mana rocks, rituals, and treasure looting, the deck immediately targets Smaug with high-damage spells such as Cut Propulsion, Blasphemous Act, or Star of Extinction to generate 13 to 20 Treasures in a single action. It converts this enormous burst of artifacts and mana into lethal damage across all opponents using aristocrat drain pieces like Mirkwood Bats and Marionette Master, repeating ping loops with Blazing Sunsteel and Pyrohemia, or closing out the game with lethal X-spells like Exsanguinate. Inherent resilience from indestructible shields the commander against standard board wipes, while low-cost redirection spells defend against exile removal.
