Masterful Mischief - ASG Precon

Format: Commander

Commander: Kang Prime

Bracket: 3

DeckCheck Threat Index: 36

Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir midrange strategy centered on Kang Prime. The game plan uses dense 2-CMC mana rocks to deploy Kang Prime on Turn 4, immediately exiling and suspending nonland spells from the library. Topdeck manipulation tools like Brainstorm, Brainsurge, Ponder, and Scroll Rack let you stack high-impact payoffs such as Archon of Cruelty, Sphinx of the Second Sun, Massacre Wurm, and Dusk Mangler directly into Kang's suspend trigger. A versatile suite of flicker spells—including Ghostly Flicker, Essence Flux, Displace, Thassa, Deep-Dwelling, and Displacer Kitten—re-triggers Kang Prime and your utility creatures to generate card flow, disrupt opposing boards, and defend against spot removal. As time counters tick down, suspended bombs cast for free with haste, overwhelming the table with evasive combat damage and recurring asymmetric attrition triggers. Broad reactive interaction and diverse board sweepers keep opponents in check while you close out the game.
