Deck overview

This Rakdos deck is piloted by Greven, Predator Captain, executing an aggressive suicide-Voltron game plan. The strategy revolves around deploying aggressively costed creatures with high power and low mana value—such as Rotting Regisaur, Hunted Horror, Kalakscion, Hunger Tyrant, and Phyrexian Soulgorger—during the first three turns. On Turn 4 or 5, Greven enters combat, sacrificing these creatures to draw massive bursts of cards while converting the resulting life loss into lethal commander power. Once Greven becomes a massive menace threat, the deck closes out opponents through unblockable commander damage, double strike from Temur Battle Rage, or direct damage conversion via Chandra's Ignition, Fling, and Rite of Consumption. Lifelink equipment like Shadowspear and Basilisk Collar stabilizes life totals against heavy self-inflicted damage.
