Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul group-slug and forced-combat strategy commanded by Hansk, Slayer Zealot. The game plan revolves around turning Hansk's political ability into a personal card-advantage and damage engine. During your upkeep, Hansk provides an opponent with three 2/2 Zombie Walker tokens. By combining Hansk's tap-to-deal-2-damage ability with low-cost sweepers like Pyroclasm, Whipflare, and the static trigger of Aether Flash, the deck routinely destroys these tokens on arrival to draw multiple cards each turn. Simultaneously, forced-combat cards such as Grand Melee, Fumiko the Lowblood, and Avatar of Slaughter compel opponents to swing into one another. As creatures perish in combat or to board sweepers, burn multipliers like Dingus Staff, Vicious Shadows, and Gimli, Counter of Kills rapidly deplete opposing life totals, ending the game in a flurry of asymmetric attrition.
