Deck overview

This Orzhov deck leverages Minthara, Merciless Soul to convert sacrificial fodder, blink triggers, and token generation into scaling experience counters that buff the entire board. Early turns focus on deploying cheap creatures and token producers such as Doomed Traveler, Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia, and Hidden Stockpile. Casting Minthara on curve immediately begins accumulating experience counters through sacrifice and flicker effects like Ephemerate and Cloudshift. As experience counters build, Minthara's attack buff transforms modest token swarms from Adeline, Resplendent Cathar, Thalisse, Reverent Medium, and Horn of Gondor into lethal combat forces. Simultaneously, aristocrat payoffs including Mirkwood Bats, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Bastion of Remembrance drain opponents whenever tokens enter or die. While the deck possesses strong resilience through reanimation engines like Sun Titan and Victimize, it relies on combat damage and drain over several turns, leaving it exposed to well-timed board sweepers.
