Commander: Rootha, Mastering the Moment

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is an Izzet spellslinger deck built around Rootha, Mastering the Moment, turning instants and sorceries into a growing army of flying, hasty Elemental tokens. The core loop is simple: cast one or more instants/sorceries before combat, let Rootha create an X/X token, then widen that board with Rionya, Fire Dancer, Determined Iteration, Shark Typhoon, and Furygale Flocking. The primary kill is a mega-turn fueled by extra combat spells - Full Throttle, World at War, and Fury of the Horde - during which Rootha creates a fresh token in every combat and untaps all attackers, stacking damage into a one-shot table kill. Secondary lines loop Time Warp or Rapturous Moment through Renegade Bull and Surge to Victory for extra turns and explosive mana. Rootha is a payoff more than a required engine; the deck can pivot to Rionya-based copy shenanigans and graveyard recursion if the commander is answered.
