Deck overview

This deck is a 5-color Spellslinger engine commanded by Codie, Ravenous Codex, designed around creatures with the Prepared mechanic. By utilizing the spell halves of prepared creatures, the deck bypasses traditional card disadvantage, casting powerful instant and sorcery copies directly from the battlefield while Codie copies each prepared spell automatically. Mana ramp pieces like Bloom Tender, Faeburrow Elder, and Storm-Kiln Artist generate abundant colored mana, while card draw engines like Archmage Emeritus and Emeritus of Ideation // Ancestral Recall provide explosive card advantage. The deck transitions into a lethal win condition on Turns 6–7 by chaining doubled ritual effects like Blazing Firesinger // Seething Song into game-ending Magecraft life drain from Witherbloom Apprentice and Guttersnipe, or by generating massive colorless mana via Yavimaya Bloomsage // Channel to resolve a lethal doubled Stensian Sanguinist // Exsanguinate.
