Deck overview

This deck is a Bant Defender aggro deck commanded by Arcades, the Strategist. The strategy deploys low-cost creatures with high toughness during the early turns, establishing substantial blockers and mana ramp through creatures like Overgrown Battlement and Axebane Guardian. Once Arcades enters on Turn 4, every defender becomes an offensive threat that assigns combat damage equal to toughness while drawing cards on entry. The deck breaks parity using asymmetric board sweepers like Slaughter the Strong and Destined Confrontation, which destroy opposing high-power threats while leaving the 0-power defender army untouched. Combat lethality is accelerated with Tower Defense or unblockable attacks via Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive, while instant-speed blink spells like Ghostway provide board protection and massive card draw bursts.
