Deck overview

This deck executes a unique kindred strategy built around 25 copies of Sphinx's Approach alongside powerful Esper Sphinxes. In the command zone, The Ur-Sphinx provides passive eminence cost reduction to cast high-impact Sphinxes ahead of curve. The core engine uses Sphinx's Approach to maintain continuous card flow and graveyard velocity. Once five copies of Approach reach the graveyard, every subsequent cast tutors game-ending Sphinxes like Magister Sphinx, Sphinx of the Steel Wind, and Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign straight onto the battlefield. When combined with Thrumming Stone, a single cast ripples through the library, drawing dozens of cards and flooding the board with flying threats in a single turn. Reanimation spells like Reanimate and Animate Dead provide excellent recovery against sweepers, while a tight suite of countermagic and haste equipment ensures the deck closes out the game swiftly through overwhelming aerial combat.
