Deck overview

This Orzhov deck combines tribal Angel synergies with an explosive reanimator plan led by Shilgengar, Sire of Famine. In the opening turns, the deck establishes mana ramp, develops early Angels, and filters large threats into the graveyard using Blood tokens and plainscycling. Once Shilgengar lands on Turn 5, sacrificing high-toughness Angels yields a massive stockpile of Blood tokens. On Turn 6, Shilgengar pays three mana and six Blood tokens to reanimate the entire graveyard, cheating enormous threats like Avacyn, Angel of Hope, Serra's Emissary, and Sephara, Sky's Blade directly into play. Unique counter-removal tech like Thrull Parasite and Nesting Grounds removes finality counters from reanimated creatures, allowing them to loop indefinitely. Asymmetric stax pieces like Drana and Linvala and Liesa, Forgotten Archangel suppress opposing interaction while an airborne army closes out the game across Turns 7 and 8.
