Deck overview

Captain N'ghathrod commands a Dimir Horror tribal deck focused on milling opponents through evasive combat and stealing their best milled creatures and artifacts. The deck curves low-cost Horrors and mana rocks into its commander on Turn 5, immediately converting combat damage into library mill and end-step reanimation. On Turn 6, the deck accelerates into game-ending threats: Guiltfeeder turns full graveyards into direct life loss, Consuming Aberration grows to lethal power, and large mill spells like Maddening Cacophony or Traumatize decimate libraries. Additionally, the deck contains an incidental infinite combo with Duskmantle Guildmage and Mindcrank that can instantly drain all opponents. While the strategy boasts formidable combat evasion through menace and powerful asymmetric board wipes, it relies heavily on opponents having valid graveyard targets and lacks cheap instant stack interaction. Against graveyard hate or fast combo decks, it must rely on Spellskite and proactive creature suppression via Sludge Monster to stay ahead.
