Deck overview

This Abzan deck centers on Myrkul, Lord of Bones, turning dying nontoken creatures into durable noncreature enchantment tokens. This mechanic breaks creatures with untap costs paid via -1/-1 counters, notably Devoted Druid, Cinderhaze Wretch, and Barrenton Medic. Because enchantments do not have toughness, they can untap infinitely without dying. Devoted Druid produces infinite green mana, while Cinderhaze Wretch discards all opponents' hands on your turn. The deck accelerates through two-mana dorks and rocks to cast its seven-mana commander on Turn 5, establishing a decisive lock or combo state by Turn 6. Supported by enchantress draw engines, combat taxes, and aristocrat drain effects, the list can also win independently using the Dina, Soul Steeper and Exquisite Blood infinite life-drain loop.
