Marchesa Modular v1.2 by Jmdt784

Format: Commander

Commander: Marchesa, the Black Rose

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Marchesa, the Black Rose leads a Grixis Modular midrange deck that wins by making every counter and artifact death compound. Seven Modular creatures plus Iron Apprentice provide bodies that preserve counters on death, while Steel Overseer, Iron Spider, Mm'menon, Thran Vigil and Agatha's Soul Cauldron ensure new counters and recursion eligibility. The core loop is artifact ETBs triggering Mm'menon to add counters and countered creatures leaving to create Mutagen tokens via The Ooze, with Modular moving counters forward and Marchesa returning countered creatures each end step. Secondary wins use All Will Be One, Marionette Apprentice and Goblin Bombardment to convert counters and deaths into direct damage, or Kappa Cannoneer and Arcbound Crusher for lethal combat.
