Sauron, the Dark Lord by lukemattar

Format: Commander

Commander: Sauron, the Dark Lord

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Sauron, the Dark Lord leads a Grixis amass-tribal deck built around growing one Army token and using the Ring tempts ability for explosive card draw. The primary plan is ramp into Sauron, then use amass payoffs like Saruman the White Hand and Mauhur to make a huge Orc Army and close with Assault on Osgiliath. A secondary Wraith plan uses Lord of the Nazgul as a hidden commander, turning instant and sorcery spells into 3/3 Wraiths that become 9/9 once you control nine. Theft and reanimation effects add flexibility. The deck is midrange, with no true combo and its speed depends on protecting its chosen token engine.
