Deck overview

Edgar Markov leads a low-curve Mardu Vampire deck built around explosive board development and aristocrats drain. The eminence ability generates a free Vampire token whenever you cast a Vampire spell, ensuring a steady stream of battlefield presence without ever requiring Edgar Markov to enter combat. The deck leverages this swarm through two primary win conditions: overwhelming combat damage amplified by mass anthem effects like Shared Animosity and Purphoros, God of the Forge, and lethal aristocrats drain via Blood Artist, Cruel Celebrant, and Zulaport Cutthroat. Continuous token generation also enables sacrifice loops and massive card draw engines to close out games efficiently.
