Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis aggro-midrange build focused on Villain tribal synergies, connive triggers, and discard payoffs led by Doctor Doom, King of Latveria. The deck deploys low-cost Villains on early turns, casts Doctor Doom on Turn 4, and uses his combat trigger to repeatedly grant menace and trigger connive. Conniving rapidly filters cards, buffs creatures with +1/+1 counters, and weaponizes discarded lands into direct life loss. Midgame force multipliers like Archfiend of Ifnir systematically dismantle opposing creature boards, while cards like The Squadron Sinister and Ultron, Unlimited expand the board into a wide, evasive attacking force. The deck features a flexible removal suite and resilient recursion options like Mayhem and Thunderbolts Conspiracy to recover quickly from board wipes, closing games out around Turn 8 through menace combat damage and burn.
