Commander: Meren of Clan Nel Toth

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This Meren of Clan Nel Toth deck is a Golgari reanimator/aristocrats hybrid that wins through grinding death triggers and a compact life-loss combo. The primary plan is to sacrifice creatures for card advantage and experience counters, then use Meren's end-step recursion to continually return key threats. A secondary combo line uses Bloodletter of Aclazotz to double all opponent life loss during your turn, turning Unstoppable Slasher's combat trigger and Rush of Dread into one-shot kills. If the combo is disrupted, the deck pivots to attrition via Blood Artist, Kokusho, the Evening Star, and The Meathook Massacre. There is no hidden commander; Meren is the central engine, though the deck retains moderate function if she is unavailable.
