Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger aggro deck commanded by Rootha, Mastering the Moment. The primary strategy focuses on casting high-mana-value spells for heavily discounted or alternative costs—such as delve, pitch, or cost-reduction mechanics—during the precombat main phase. When combat begins, Rootha converts the highest mana value cast that turn into a massive flying Elemental token with haste. The deck accelerates this aerial clock by chaining extra combat steps and extra turn spells, enabling rapid elimination of opposing life totals. A compact infinite combat combo between Neheb, the Eternal and Aggravated Assault offers an alternate direct finish. Dense cheap countermagic and free interaction defend the commander during critical casting windows.
