Deck overview

This mono-black deck pairs Shadowheart, Dark Justiciar with the Haunted One Background to create a dedicated Shadowborn Apostle engine. By tapping Shadowheart, every Human and Cleric receives +2/+0 and undying until end of turn. Sacrificing an Apostle to Shadowheart's ability draws 3 fresh cards while the Apostle immediately recurs to the battlefield. The high density of 23 Apostles ensures continuous fodder, which is eventually cashed in six at a time to cheat game-ending Demons directly into play. Payoffs like Razaketh, the Foulblooded, Valgavoth, Terror Eater, and Vilis, Broker of Blood establish commanding board presence, tutor game-winning pieces, and strip opposing resources. The deck finishes games through large flying combat damage, Syr Konrad, the Grim death triggers, and a massive Rise of the Dark Realms resolution. While vulnerable to early creature sweepers and exile removal, the deck boasts exceptional card velocity and redundancy.
