Deck overview

This Golgari deck is led by Shelob, Child of Ungoliant, combining Spider kindred synergies, deathtouch combat control, and token overrun finishes. Early turns focus on establishing mana acceleration through low-cost mana dorks and land ramp spells such as Cultivate and Arcane Signet. In the midgame, the deck establishes an impassable ground defense by deploying Spiders that gain deathtouch and ward {2} from Shelob. Fight and bite spells like Bushwhack, Cosmic Hunger, and Epic Fight act as efficient removal while stealing opposing creatures as Food artifact tokens. Token producers such as Arasta of the Endless Web, Spider Spawning, and Ishkanah, Grafwidow build a wide board state that is converted into lethal damage using game-ending overruns including Overrun, Overwhelming Stampede, and Noxious Assault. Protection pieces like Heroic Intervention and Asceticism defend the board against sweepers, ensuring the spider swarm closes out the game.
