Gix by ketola

Format: Commander

Commander: Gix, Yawgmoth Praetor

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This mono-black aggro-control deck uses Gix, Yawgmoth Praetor to convert an army of low-cost, evasive creatures into rapid card advantage. You deploy early threats like Changeling Outcast and Tormented Soul to reliably trigger Gix and draw into powerful mana engines like Cabal Coffers, Crypt Ghast, and Lake of the Dead. As your card advantage builds, you control opposing boards with efficient spot removal and burst card-draw engines like Ad Nauseam and Necropotence. The deck closes games either by generating massive mana to cast a lethal Exsanguinate or Torment of Hailfire, or by instantly eliminating players with a massive combat burst using Hatred.
