Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos combo-burn engine built around Smaug the Impenetrable. Because Smaug is an 8/7 flyer with indestructible and haste, it turns any noncombat damage dealt to it into an equal number of Treasure tokens. The deck accelerates through early turns using red and black rituals, mana rocks, and Dragon cost-reducers. Once Smaug enters, self-inflicted damage spells like Cut Propulsion, Self-Destruct, and Blasphemous Act generate 8 to 16+ Treasures in an instant. This massive mana burst immediately fuels game-ending finishers including Crackle with Power, Torment of Hailfire, or passive drain from Mirkwood Bats and Ingenious Artillerist. The deck also features an infinite combo in Blazing Sunsteel, which loops damage against indestructible Smaug to create infinite mana and triggers. While vulnerable to exile removal and countermagic, the deck delivers sudden, decisive wins out of nowhere.
