Format: Commander

Commander: Maralen, Fae Ascendant

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Maralen, Fae Ascendant is a Simic-centric tempo engine that converts every Elf/Faerie cast into exile-based card advantage and free spell access. The deck's primary plan is to flood the board with cheap Elves and Faeries, trigger Maralen repeatedly, and cast spells from exile to overwhelm opponents. Secondary paths include Thranduil the Elvenking's graveyard-ability toolbox, a small Intruder Alarm combo, and theft effects like Gonti and Puppeteer Clique. The commander is the engine; while the deck can play a decent creature beatdown game without it, the free-cast engine loses most of its power, making dependency moderate. The deck has a respectable interaction suite, especially at instant speed, and solid ramp and card draw to support its midrange game.
