Format: Commander

Commander: Sauron, the Dark Lord

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Sauron, the Dark Lord heads a Grixis sacrifice-and-recursion deck. It uses cheap mana, tutors, and selection to assemble creature-death loops. The primary win pairs Gravecrawler with Phyrexian Altar, a Zombie such as Carrion Feeder, and Blood Artist or Zulaport Cutthroat. Secondary wins use Forsaken Miner and Goblin Bombardment, The Locust God with Mister Fantastic, Reed Richards, or Underworld Breach storm. Sauron supplies Army bodies and Ring-based refueling but is not required. Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER // Sephiroth, One-Winged Angel is the hidden commander: the front face rewards deaths and transforms, while the back face provides a stronger attack-and-drain payoff. The deck mainly exploits the front face.
