Deck overview

This Grixis reanimator deck focuses on putting massive, game-warping creatures into the graveyard and returning them to the battlefield ahead of curve. By leveraging efficient enablers like Entomb, Buried Alive, and Faithless Looting, the deck cheats threats such as Archon of Cruelty, Vilis, Broker of Blood, and the Ancient Dragon cycle into play as early as turns 3 to 4 using spells like Reanimate and Animate Dead. A rich interactive suite featuring Mana Drain, Deadly Rollick, and Deflecting Swat shields these threats while disrupting opposing strategies. In the mid-to-late game, mass recursion from Living Death, Breach the Multiverse, and cast triggers from Sauron, Lord of the Rings overwhelm the table with a lethal board presence supported by Anger for immediate haste attacks.
