Deck overview

This Golgari deck helmed by Hazel of the Rootbloom leverages wide token generation, tribal Squirrel synergies, and big-mana burst turns. The early game focuses on deploying small token producers such as Vinereap Mentor, Chatter of the Squirrel, and Peregrin Took, which Hazel converts into exponential board presence and burst mana. Once a sizable board of Squirrels and utility tokens is established, the deck transitions into closing the game through decisive overrun effects including Craterhoof Behemoth, Triumph of the Hordes, and Preposterous Proportions, or via alternate infect threats like Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon. Card advantage engines such as Skullclamp, Toski, Bearer of Secrets, and Idol of Oblivion keep the hand full throughout development. While vulnerable to repeated sweepers and lacking fast combo speed, the deck features resilient board protection and powerful asymmetric synergy.
