Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul Equipment Aggro deck commanded by Barret, Avalanche Leader. The strategy focuses on overcoming traditional Equipment tempo bottlenecks by utilizing Barret's abilities to spawn 2/2 Rebel tokens whenever Equipment enters and automatically attaching Equipment to a Rebel at the beginning of combat for zero mana. This allows the deck to deploy massive power buffs such as Colossus Hammer and Excalibur, Sword of Eden without paying high equip costs. The deck transitions into a lethal combat clock around Turn 5, pressuring opponents with evasive and trampling damage bolstered by extra combat steps from Akki Battle Squad and Relentless Assault. While highly resilient to creature removal due to durable Equipment permanents and backup commanders like Stangg and Chishiro, the list runs a lean interaction suite and relies primarily on combat-step momentum to close the game.
