Deck overview

This Gruul aggro deck harnesses the Earthbend mechanic to animate lands into resilient combat threats, led by Toph, Greatest Earthbender. Toph grants all land creatures double strike while turning a land into a 4/4 haste attacker upon entry. The deck accelerates through early ramp on Turns 1 to 3, casts Toph on Turn 4, and escalates pressure on Turn 5 with heavy hitters like Bumi, Unleashed and Avatar Kyoshi, Earthbender. Because earthbent lands automatically return to the battlefield tapped if destroyed or exiled, the deck naturally shrugs off standard board wipes and maintains mana velocity. A protective suite of cheap redirection spells like Deflecting Swat and Bolt Bend keeps Toph alive during crucial combat steps. Without needing infinite combos or stax pieces, the deck overwhelms opponents through fast, high-power combat damage.
