Deck overview

This Golgari deck leverages The Gitrog, Ravenous Ride to execute an aggressive, power-matters landfall strategy. By deploying severely undercosted, high-power creatures—such as Rotting Regisaur, Hunted Horror, and Daemogoth Titan—the deck turns drawbacks into massive advantages. When Gitrog enters the battlefield with haste on Turn 4, it immediately saddles one of these behemoths, attacks, and sacrifices it upon dealing combat damage. This triggers an explosive burst of card draw and puts multiple lands directly onto the battlefield tapped. The resulting mana leap and hand refill allow the deck to pivot smoothly into overwhelming win conditions. By Turn 5 and 6, the massive land count fuels game-ending threats like Avenger of Zendikar, Scute Swarm, Mossborn Hydra, Ob Nixilis, the Fallen, and a game-ending Exsanguinate. Supported by efficient ramp and targeted protection, the deck reliably outvalues opponents through sheer resource volume and massive combat pressure.
