Deck overview

This Orzhov list is a legendary-knights value deck that turns death and exile triggers into an ever-growing Syr Vondam. The main plan is to develop early death/exile enablers, use Squall to give the commander double strike, and finish with commander damage through Rogue's Passage or the equipment suite. Secondary paths are board control through Urza's Ruinous Blast, Sothera, and The Darkness Crystal, plus a big-Dawnsire station plan. Syr Vondam, Sunstar Exemplar is the payoff and incidental removal rather than a mana engine; Syr Vondam, the Lucent and Squall serve as pseudo-commanders in the 99. The deck can grind without its commander but loses its fastest kill.
